HISTORY OF OUR MASS CRUISERS AUTO CLUB
• The Mass Cruisers Auto Club is celebrating its 34th year in 2025 and was formed in 1991. We currently have 72 active members. Club membership can include a spouse or significant other and owning a collector car is not required.
• Reasons to join, cruising, parades, car shows, and general socializing with fellow members, but the collective interest for club members was the enjoyment of owning a vehicle. We are all, first and foremost, enthusiasts.
• Current Mass Cruiser auto-related events include hosting Thursday bi-weekly Bass Pro Shops cruise nights at Patriot Place in Foxborough from April through October. We host an annual Car Show at the Seekonk Speedway for their opening racing season weekend in May. We also host engine build-off competitions between teams from area Technical Vocational Schools.
• Our charitable activities include supporting five local food pantries with food and monetary donations, provide scholarships to several graduating area Technical-Vocational Schools and collect gently used tools for these students. We also provide financial assistance to area organizations like the Stoughton American Legion.
Cruiser of the Year Recognition
Each year a “Cruiser of the Year” is selected. The tradition began in 2004 following the 2003 unexpected death of fellow club member whose family would select a vehicle they thought he would like to own. and present the owner with a trophy. They also presented the club with a $100 donation to be used to recognize and honor a club member that has gone above and beyond the call of duty becoming “Cruiser of the Year.” This honor can only be received once, and the honoree’s name is added to the plaque.
